When undertaking your personal diagnosis, we use an array of practical, theoretical, intuitive and intellectual techniques developed over thousands of years to decipher and detect what is happening inside and outside your body and mind. This enables us to identify the causation and correlation between different signs and symptoms which may appear unrelated or random.
Once we’ve completed your personal diagnosis, we combine two different styles of acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element Constitutional Theory.
Integrating both styles of medicine sets us apart from other acupuncture services, allowing us to curate individual treatments tailored specifically to your needs, These work together to re-establish the free-flow of energy and kick-start your body and mind’s natural healing responses. In doing so, we focus on:
Treating the problem as well as the ‘person’ as a whole: Our treatments are holistic.
Addressing longer term underlying issues, as well as more acute, immediate imbalances
Tackling the underlying causes of your physical and emotional imbalances, rather than just masking signs and symptoms.
To complement our acupuncture treatments, we will likely also use some of the following, depending on your personal diagnosis:
Fire and suction cupping – Creating a vacuum to pull skin, tissue and muscles upwards increases blood flow to the affected area to promote healing.
Moxibustion – The moxa herb is lit and a therapeutic heat permeates the skin and activates the flow of Qi (energy) and blood to bring about balance in the body’s energetic system.
Gua Sha – Epidermal stimulation using a round-edged jade stone improves blood flow to release tension or pain in a localised area.
Tui Na – A form of ancient Chinese massage that gently stimulates blood flow to release energy and help relieve tension and/ or pain.
Qi Gong – A powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China which uses breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, and circulate qi.
